I just have to show off pierhias's work on my super seekrit badger buddy gift! I asked for a new header for my layout: amdragonfly123. OMG Johnny so pretty!!!! I tried to create a background to do it justice, but that can be fixed later. Did I mention, OMG Johnny so pretty! Just what I need to cheer me up after my fall down the stairs.

I've had a rough day or two with medication withdrawls and sleep problems. Unimportant. But I thought I'd take a step back and share something I've been given to meditate over in therapy.

Ugh.. ever have one of those ... months... years? I'm surrounded by a lot of negativity today. Plus, I think I'm breaking a personal record for the most posts in one week. ...

I reapplied to hogwarts_elite for the FINAL TERM! OMG, how could I not! Plus, I'd been thinking about it for awhile (mentioned it several posts back... I think - still totally not jumping on any bandwagon ;p). I made over half of my LJ friends there and I kind of want to reconnect with some people. Maybe being more social, even if it is just on the internet will help.

I've been sick with some stomach bug. I'm getting over it, but things have just been crazy in my head. I'm not up to going over it all now. Let's make that a separate post.

I'm feeling really wired, and I haven't even had much caffeine. But the things on my to do list are shrinking and the weekend is in sight, so I figure I'll post just to post. So, have a meme. (Stolen from rotae)

Quick post, detailing some the good and the bad of this last week:

+ I have a new layout: amdragonfly123; I was bored with the old one, and this one just kind of struck me when I saw it. :D

+ With the new layout, I have a new banner for my sticky post. It's of Natalie Dormer, the actress who plays Anne Boleyn on Showtime's The Tudors. I love the show! Granted, I've only seen the first season (thank you Netflix) and I'm waaay far behind now. Still, it's a sexy picture and I think very representative of the vibe of the show. The quote is Shakespeare, btw.

- I've been sleeping until noon and not getting much done. This is bad, especially since I have to be ready to head back to Cookeville in two days.

+ I do have my clothes clean and packed and a general pile of other stuff that has to go back with me.

- Everyone at my house is grumpy. I blame the cooler weather.

+ Speaking of the cooler weather, I have begun my normal winter over-reacting. I've bought gloves and found every hat, scarf, and jacket I own.

- I've also begun a hellish search for a warmer coat. I HATE CLOTHES SHOPPING. I've not come to terms with my body issues and it doesn't help that everything I've found that I've liked has been about one size too small (and I'm not kidding, literally everything). At this point I'm about to say screw it and just pile on a few of the jackets if it gets that cold.

- Snow in the forecast. Ugh.

+ I've been watching the news more regularly. I'm actually knowledgeable about current events, horrific though many of them are.

+/- The sociology class I was really looking forward to, Social Movements and Change, has already canceled class. It's a mixed blessing. She cites the confusion surrounding the first day schedule (though the first day of class is Thursday we are to report to Monday classes). And since the class is only MW, we'll only have one class next week. Still, I'm like, whoo! Short day!

+ and lastly, I think I've fallen in love with this artist I just found, Landon Pigg. Supposedly his song Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop was featured in a diamonds ad, but somehow I missed it. Anyway, I love the minimalist style of the song, and his other songs (while some of the singles don't follow the same ascetic) are pretty awesome, too.

I'm joining an icon challenge community that was just created by my two best friends and partners in crime (of ohsnap_icons fame). Pimping it for them, in case anyone is interested in a new challenge. :)


Rules | Claims

iconaday is an icon challenge type community. It is slightly different than your normal icon community in that, you are supplied with a daily theme. So.. rather than making icons with a set 50 themes, they are different each day for a total of 100 icons!

Each member choses a claim of any sort. This can be as broad as an entire series, or as narrow as you want it. From OTP's to characters, if you want to do it, you can. Each day you make an icon, you will reply to the posted theme with your icon. Easy as that! If you are unable to post for a theme for that day, that is perfectly fine! You are free to skip any themes you can't think of or just don't have time to do.

Anyone, regardless of icon talent, is welcome to join! The more the merrier!

I wish I hadn't fallen asleep during the show last night, but I'm so glad I caught this. It's been all over the internets which is awesome because I can't stop watching! I think it pretty much covers my emotions regarding these candidates in this election season.

ARG! I should have started packing aaaaages ago. So, I'll be buried under boxes and shopping lists ($600 for books?!? WHAT?!?) until I get to campus on Saturday. Between moving on Saturday and club activities on Sunday, I'm basically booked up for the weekend. (If you are a member of the College Democrats, don't forget about the Organization Fair on the Quad at 2 3! I meant 3!!! on Sunday.)

Off to continue packing. (Why do I have so much crap?!) Classes start on Monday!
